If you want to be a leader you need to get very familiar with speaking these words.
"...I fucked up. I apologise." Because when you are in more influential position of power you also open yourself to increasing levels of vulnerability and exposure of ALL your fuck ups and flaws. When you are a leader, your choices and ways of being now affect more than just your close inner circle of friends. Not only does your partner see all your issues and shit up close and personal, but everyone on facebook does too! Your decisions and actions are public opinion that is talked about in peoples spare time - you open yourself to reflections, projections and 'feedback' whether you like it or. You have taken the stage, and claimed a new level of power and influence that means others are now affected by the decisions YOU make - their incomes, their weekend plans, their dreams, their healing. If you want to be a leader your community, your employees, your colleagues, your country they are seeing it all baby - and you have nowhere to hide. If you want to be a leader realise the more people that are positively influenced by your brilliance and gifts, the more who are also going affected by your personal shit. Your circle of influence will expose and shine a big fat amplifying light on all that you are whether you like it or not. The bigger that circle, the brighter the light. For many this responsibility is just too fucking scary, so we don't step up, the pressure and exposure is just too great. But If even after you've acknowledged all that, and your message and vision still burns strongly inside of you. There is one thing that may ease up that pressure a little, something that may be holding you back from putting yourself out there..something damaging and disempowering, that affects us all.... The biggest bullshit illusions that I believe unconsciously infiltrates all of society is that our leaders or teachers need to be perfect, flawless and impeccable gods or goddesses who never make a mistake. |
